Who is LOWS?

LOWS was founded in spring of 1983 by a group of llama owners and breeders interested in the exchange of information, expanding the existing market, creating new markets by educating the public, national group advertising and just having fun with their llamas. Llama ownership in the last 20 years has changed dramatically, and LOWS has adjusted accordingly. LOWS currently includes more than 125 farms, encompassing not only western Washington but also eastern Washington, other states and Canada (See our Members Online Page). LOWS is a non-profit organization. Programs are implemented under guidance of a seven-member Board of Directors.
